The Sweet Stuff
What I'm lovin' these days:
- evenings at the park--the B-dog playing while I sit under a tree enjoying a good book
- the unseasonably cool weather...perfect for morning and evening walks
- wasabi peas--have you tried these? They're fabulous. You can find them at your local health food store. Dehydrated peas coated in wasabi. You can pop 'em in your mouth like popcorn...popcorn with a kick. Yum, yum, yum.
- The Lake House--I'd been putting this movie off because although I love that Sandy Bullock I'm not a big fan of Keanu Reeves. I finally watched it last night and I have to admit that I really liked it. I didn't quite 'get it' all but it still kept me wringing my hands until the very end. And the next time I have my haircut I'm going to take a pic of Sandra Bullock's hair in this movie. It's too cute.
- The Davinci Code--I've owned this book for almost 2 years but didn't get around to reading it until last week. What a great story. Quite the page turner...and I'd already seen the movie.
- falling in love with the Bluth's all over again--with all my favorite shows on summer hiatus we're spending our evenings re-watching seasons 1 & 2 of Arrested Development. *sigh* Am I the only one that misses the Bluths?
- summer's bountiful crop of fresh fruits and vegetables.
- celebrating the engagement of a dear friend
- a brand new haircut...and an eyebrow wax
- Pearl Jam's Rearview Window, disk 2...I've just been in a Pearl Jam mood lately
- this photographers amazing work
- this blogger's amazing writing
- Vanity Fair's Africa issue...also known as the Bono edition
- the poetry of Billy Collins

The Lakehouse movie had me completly confuse, I so wanted to "get" it, but I could'nt. I'm waiting to read to divinci code, I hope i like it better that the movie.

Have you seen an older movie with Keanu Reeves called A Walk In The Clouds? It might make you a fan. :<)
I like Billy Collins poetry, too, and have offered a couple poems on my blog.

Michelle, I know you love poetry, so when you have 5 minutes alone read this one:
http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/body-and-soul/
it is by BF Fairchild and it is to me the finest poem EVER. He captures the realness of real people and has some devastating lines. It is very long, but by line 3 you will be so captivated you will want to read it!

Oh and I really enjoyed reading this post. It gives me a nice glimpse into you. Having read your blogs now for so long I feel like I could pick up the phone and have a chat with you and it would be so normal :) You photos are still an inspiration to me. The one of your son on Tangled Wings is PRECIOUS.

um, i miss the bluth's more than words can say. it kills me that there are some of the most ridiculous shows on, yet a.d. was cancelled!
but the lake house?! i was pissed off (actually, i still am!) that i paid money to watch that.

Yum, wasabi peas. Must get some the next time I'm at Whole paycheck Foods. And YES, I miss the Bluth's. I have to get back to watching my DVD's - haven't been watching much at all lately, thanks for the reminder.

The Bluths are what make life worth living. "You should really think about taping yourself for an entire day and then playing it back."

Great list M. I also just saw "The Lake House," and I had to watch it a second time. I enjoyed it immensely, though I believe it was the feeling that lingered with me.
I need to pick up that Africa issue; I almost did the other day.
xoxoxo

I really liked the Lake House, there was something about it... but I did have to watch it twice to understand it fully. ;)
